Every Thursday night I give what may be my most important gift as Director of Recovery Ministries at Cokesbury....I put on a name tag and go outside to get people as they start showing up for dinner. For some of the folks coming, I know that it's a small highlight in the day....for others, well they most likely endure my greeting....but each week I'm there....I hope that our people know this:
That I expect them...
That I love being with them...
That they matter...that they count...that they are valued....
That they are in the right place for encouragement, strength and hope.....
It's a good gift....I plan to give it out for a long time!

You know, I do enjoy that hug you give me when I walk up to the door. You are such a loving man.

Beebs,
God told me months ago to go open the door for our community. Adding you to God's "front door" team (not the Hospitality team) has really shown me what being obedienance means.
He washed feet.
You have taught me quickly how to better walk in the spirit and follow his lead.
Thank you my brother!

I hope you realize how important that hug is on Thursday night. Many people live alone without family and that could be the only hug they get for the week. Hugs keep us healthy! Thanks for always being there to greet each of us in a special way.
